Cokiyu - Your Thorn

I don’t remember hearing the 1st Cokiyu album on Flau when it came in so I thought I’d check this one out. From the off it’s incredibly delicate music. Gentle indie pop swathed in electronics and more twinkles than you can shake a shitty stick at. It’s making me think of earlier Mum and folks like Tujiko Noriko and even Tenniscoats. ‘With My Umbrella’ is total space pop with its futuristic sounds. The sound is very full indeed and you’d think it’d be in danger of sounding messy but everything fits together perfectly. Acoustic guitar, keyboards and general indie electronickery muzak. I’ve not heard much indietronica in a while but it’s kinda nice to hear it again and this sounds really well done with some excellent tracks.
